Luminous Intensity (Candelas, cd)
Luminous intensity, measured in candelas (cd), describes how much visible light is emitted in a specific direction. Unlike luminous flux, which measures the total light output in all directions, luminous intensity shows how concentrated the light is in one angle or beam. This makes luminous intensity a critical specification when assessing spotlights, floodlights, and any application where light needs to be directed with precision.
